• Cockroaches can live in cracks and crevices in floors, ceilings, or walls. Their population can grow very fast in voids and spaces, and they will make sure that they are near their food and water sources. These pests are able to adapt to the operations of the plant and may become extremely active when the area becomes quiet and offline.

• Stored product pests (moths, weevils, and beetles such as sawtoothed, confused flour or drugstore beetles), also known as pantry pests, can become a big threat as they contaminate food and food containers all over the facility. They attack many different types of food items, including whole grains, wheat, corn, barley, rice, beans, nuts and more. They breed and build huge populations quickly and leave behind eggs and larvae.
• Flies can be destructive to a food processing plants as they carry more than 100 different pathogens that can induce illness and, in the most severe cases, death. They enter through doors, windows and other openings, and contaminate food or packaging materials.
